Perfect vacation: sailing, paddling, dinner at Montrio in Monterey (all thumbs up) and movies. Last night we saw Before Midnight, tonight we'll see Much Ado About Nothing. I'm sure our husbands are grateful that we went without them.
This morning, Paddy and I got up and went paddle boarding along the waterfront. We wandered through the harbor area, paddling with the sea lions and the cormorants. Then we made a left turn and headed out to Monterey waterfront, along with a paddler who lives here. We went nearly to Lover's Point, beyond the Aquarium, in beautiful swells with kelp and sea otters. Really lovely. When we turned back, we SURFED!!!! Okay, we got pushed a bit by the swells, but it was really fun.

And, I learned something new about Paddy. When she says "what about making breakfast for Leigh," what she really means is "I'm getting tired". I won't miss it next time. We paddled for two hours, then had lunch on the beach, napped a bit in the sun, and did laundry. Tonight, another movie and dinner at Montrio again.
