Just traveling.....Santa Cruz to Half Moon Bay

Not much to report today, 8 hours of motoring north to Half Moon Bay/Pillar Point Harbor. Disappointing that we will only be here overnight, I had hoped to anchor out and paddle around the outer harbor, but we didn't get here until 4:30 and the paddle boards are securely tied down on the bow, ready for tomorrow's departure for SF Bay and America's Cup racing.

We couldn't sail because there was enough energy left in the water from yesterday to roll the boat, but only about 10 knots of inconsistent wind. We tried once, and the sail just slatted back and forth as we rolled over the swells, so we gave into motoring the whole way. I have diesel fumes lining my respiratory system.

2 hours later....we heard the race was cancelled tomorrow, so we think we'll head into SF Bay and run the race course starting at 12:15. Watch for us, we plan to win.

Fish kayakers leaving Santa Cruz in the morning.
