We spent the night at anchor, just around the corner from Point Conception in the Cojo anchorage. The wind was howling, and the boat bumped around all night, changing direction with the wind. We set the anchor alarm on the GPS and were wakened twice by it as the boat swung with wind and current, so I decreased it's sensitivity and went back to sleep. A big surprise in the morning: I went to get the trip mileage from the GPS to enter it in the logbook for the day, and we had moved five miles during the night! That of course represents swinging on the anchor, probably no anchor dragging, and many, many miles of rolling. Not an easy night to sleep. It was quite a track left on the screen, lots of tight little lines around a single point.

On to plan B: we'll wait for calmer weather for the Channel Islands, in the meantime, we're tourists in Santa Barbara. A good restaurant dinner and movie for us tonight! Weather report has us tied up here at least until Sunday morning, but we'll make good use of the time.
