We anchored at Little Scorpion anchorage at Santa Cruz Island on Wednesday night , right close up to a rock island with nesting pelicans and cormorants, and also several blow hole formations. There was one other boat in the anchorage, and we double anchored again. The wind shifted during the night, coming from the east, and swinging us up close to the rock. Although it didn't seem dangerous, we weren't comfortable to leave the boat there during the day in order to go hike on the island, so we pulled up both anchors and headed over to Anacapa for some waterside sight seeing. Seeing California from the water is so spectacular, far more interesting than in a car
. The last photo is the view of the coast this morning, between Ventura and Santa Monica. In the afternoon, we crossed the 10 plus miles back to the coast, and spent the rest of the day in the shower, doing laundry, eating Thai food in a restaurant, playing liar's dice and euchre (with a dummy fourth hand), and taste testing rums. This is Friday morning, and we're on our way to Marina del Rey, hoping to stay at a really nice yacht club for the weekend. Doug and Catherine will leave tomorrow morning (it's sad to keep saying goodbye to crew) and Tom will fly down with Paul. We're expecting Lori for an overnight guest tonight, so we'll have a full euchre game, not to mention some good limerick writ
