Another lovely day, with some really great sailing in Monterey Bay. We were either under mainsail alone because we were among whales and wanted to slow the boat down, or doing 7 knots wing on wing towards Moss Landing. It was perfect sailing, and Jane did a great job steering today. The whales were numerous and very visible, also quite audible, it sounded like there was a war going on amongst them. We're put the boat into a slip and took the dinghy to Elkhorn Slough. I can't believe I had not been there before, it was a paradise of wildlife. Sea Lions, harbor seals, otters, pelicans, all sorts of birds, absolutely beautiful. Monterey tomorrow morning. What a wonderful way to visit California, we're getting to see everything from the perspective of the Pacific Ocean, and everything seems totally different.
